I am in my fifth year of full-time professional sports journalism and my love for telling impactful stories has only grown. Moving across the country for a job in Spokane has been such an opportunity for growth and expansion of my abilities and perspective. I love covering a myriad of sports and teams in Washington State University, Gonzaga, Eastern Washington and the University of Idaho along with MiLB, WHL and high school teams. The opportunity to get experience with sideline reporting and play-by-play was the selling point!
Covering sports in Northeast Louisiana at KNOE-TV gave me opportunity after opportunity to follow along and dig deeper into the lives of high school, collegiate and professional athletes from the area and the three Division I universities within 45 miles of the station.
Writing about my high school football team and their run to win a state championship my senior year of high school started my career covering sports and I haven't looked back since.
Majoring in broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University has given me the opportunity to cover a Top 5 football team, the number one recruiting class in college baseball, a Sweet 16 basketball team and much more. Two semesters interning at WAFB-TV presented more opportunities to cover sports in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area along with a trip to SWAC and SEC Media Days. I look forward to continuing to build relationships within the industry in order to further the quality of my sportscasts and features. Feel free to follow along and/or offer your feedback!
